JR. WOLVES hockey

About

Jr. Wolves is a new program for 10 to 13 year olds. Youth can join a soccer team, basketball team, ball hockey team, or multiple teams!

The Jr. Wolves provides youth the opportunity to train and play with a committed team and caring coaches in city-wide leagues. This is a great first step to joining the Wolves, our more competitive stream.

Program Costs

The Wolves Athletics Club runs on a “Contribute What You Can” membership. Our goal is to be open to any youth who wants to experience positive and supportive coaching. We believe the best teams, and the best communities, require people from different backgrounds who all support each other.

So, how do you know how much to contribute? Please review the costs during registration and make a selection based on your needs.

Whether that is 1%, 100%, or anything in between, that is up to you and your family.

1) How did you become involved in Coaching Hockey?

I became involved in coaching hockey through a combination of my love of the game and my desire to give back to the community. After I finished my schooling, I looked for ways to get more youth into the game that is often closed off from a significant portion of our communities. Free Play was that outlet!

2) What do you enjoy most about coaching?

What I love most about coaching is seeing the growth of an individual over the course of a season, not just on the ice but in various aspects of their lives. Sports can bring out the best in us and truly create who we are as individuals.

3) Share a highlight or favourite moment from your time at Free Play.

My favourite moment at Free Play was when the Wolves Hockey jerseys finally arrived for the kids to wear on the ice this past season. I will never forget the smiles on their faces when they realized they were about to represent their team proudly on the ice for the very first time.

4) What is one of your quotes that you live by personally and/or professionally?

Herb Brooks once said: "Great moments are born from great opportunities", and I believe each youth that comes to the Wolves to play has a great moment waiting for them.

5)List any coaching certifications or coach education that you possess.

6)Outside of coaching, what are your interests or hobbies?

Outside of coaching hockey, I enjoy skiing & hiking in the mountains, spending time at my family cabin, and going to festivals!
