1) How did you become involved in Coaching soccer?

I have played basketball for almost twenty years now. I played at the high school, provincial, and university level. Throughout my playing career, I picked up different opportunities to give back by coaching at the youth level. Once I finished my university playing career, I got started at Free Play and never looked back!

2) What do you enjoy most about coaching?

The thing I enjoy most about coaching is building relationships with the kids. I had many great coaches growing up that I still talk to today, and I would love to be the same type of mentor to the kids at Free Play

3) Share a highlight or favourite moment from your time at Free Play.

Grinding out an incredible win in a really tight game against a very good club with our U15 Boys at 8 AM on a Saturday morning last July. It was our first of three games that same day. The resilience and togetherness were unbelievable.

4) What is one of your quotes that you live by personally and/or professionally?

Phil Jackson: “Not only is there more to life than basketball, there’s a lot more to basketball than basketball.”

5)List any coaching certifications or coach education that you possess.

Bachelor of Arts in Psychology (including classes in sport psychology, child developmental psychology, psychology of adversity, social psychology, and 100-level introduction to coaching)

6)Outside of coaching, what are your interests or hobbies?

Playing and watching basketball, Philosophy and walks.
