welcome to the‘ Movement as Medicine’ 3x3 basketball Tournament Series
The “Movement as Medicine” Tournament Series will be a series of high school 3x3 basketball tournaments - a new version of the classic game we all know and love. Games are a half-court race to 21 points or 10 minutes, whichever comes first, and rely on speed, skill, and teamwork to be successful. For a more detailed explanation of the rules, please watch this video.
The theme of the Series is to see ‘movement as medicine’, and as such, the league will incorporate cultural experiences available to teams throughout the season. More information will be communicated as it becomes available.
While all high school youth are welcome, a major focus of the tournaments is to encourage Indigenous athletes to participate and, as such, registration fees will be discounted for athletes who self-identify as Indigenous.
Series 1: October 25, 2024 at Amiskwaciy Academy
Series 2: November 23, 2024 at Jasper Place High School
Series 3: February 21, 2025 at Jasper Place High School
Series 4: March 14, 2025 at TBD
Series 5: April 25, 2025 at TBD
